Paid search aimed at the towns you actually service

I offer Google Ads management in Launceston for small businesses that want calls this week, not in six months, with ads aimed only at the postcodes and towns you service.

When Google Ads Makes Sense

Fast visibility while SEO builds

Google Ads puts your business at the top of the search results as soon as the campaign is approved. You pay when someone clicks. That makes it useful when you need work now, when you have just launched a website or when your competitors already own the top organic spots.

The catch is that ads are easy to waste money on. Google’s default settings will happily show your ad to people in Melbourne, to job seekers and to someone looking for a free DIY guide. Good management is mostly about stopping that waste so your budget goes on people who are ready to book.

I manage campaigns for small businesses all over Tasmania. You talk to me directly by phone, email or video call. I explain what the numbers mean in plain English.

What Good Management Looks Like

The details that save your budget

These are the things I set up and check on every account, whatever the plan.

Town and postcode targeting

Ads show only in the areas you service, from a radius around Launceston to a list of postcodes like 7250, 7248 and 7277, or whole regions of Tasmania.

Call tracking

Calls from ads and from your website are tracked, so you know which keywords made the phone ring.

Negative keywords

Searches like jobs, free, DIY or courses are blocked so you don’t pay for clicks that will never become customers.

Ad schedule

Ads can run only when someone is there to answer or be paused on weekends if that suits your business.

Landing pages

Each ad sends people to the most relevant page on your site, not just the homepage.

Clear reporting

A monthly report on spend, clicks, calls and enquiries, written so it makes sense without a marketing degree.

Targeting Across Tasmania

Why location settings matter so much here

Tasmania is small in population but spread out. Travel time matters. A Launceston electrician probably doesn’t want a call from Strahan. A mobile dog groomer might happily cover Hadspen and Prospect Vale but not George Town. I set location targeting to match where you really work. I also switch on the setting that only shows ads to people physically in or regularly in those areas.

For businesses that do travel, such as a builder working across the Northern Midlands or a tourism operator wanting visitors from the mainland, I set up separate campaigns so the budget and the wording can be different for each area. You can read more about how this suits different trades on the industries page, including tourism and builders.

Google Ads and SEO work well side by side. Ads bring in calls from day one while local SEO builds free rankings. Over time many businesses lower their ad budget as their organic results improve.

Getting a Campaign Live

Usually about a week

If you already have a Google Ads account I can take it over. If not, I set one up in your name so you always own it.

1

Talk

I ask about your services, areas, budget and what a good enquiry is worth to you.

2

Research

I find the searches your customers use and the ones to block. I also check what competitors are running.

3

Launch

Campaigns, ads, call tracking and conversion tracking go live with a careful starting budget.

4

Refine

Each week I trim wasted spend and adjust bids. Each month you get a clear report.

Who manages Google Ads for small businesses in Launceston?

Website Design Launceston manages Google Ads for small businesses in Launceston and throughout Tasmania. Nick Fritzkowski sets up and runs each campaign himself and reports in plain English. Management plans start at $198 a month including GST, with ad spend paid to Google separately.

A sensible Google Ads budget for a small Tasmanian business often starts somewhere between a few hundred and a couple of thousand dollars a month, depending on the trade and the area. Competitive services cost more per click. I will suggest a starting budget after looking at the searches in your area.

Ad spend is not included in Google Ads management fees from Website Design Launceston. The management fee covers my work, while the ad budget is paid straight to Google on your own card. That keeps spending transparent and the account stays in your name.

Google Ads can target only certain towns in Tasmania by using postcodes, suburb names or a radius around a point. I also set ads to show only to people located in those areas, which stops your budget leaking to searchers on the mainland.

An existing Google Ads account in Launceston can be taken over and cleaned up rather than started from scratch. An optional takeover fee applies on the Essentials, Business and Advanced plans to cover rebuilding campaigns, tracking and negative keyword lists that were set up poorly.

Google Ads can bring in calls for a Launceston business within days of a campaign going live, once Google approves the ads. The first few weeks are a learning period. Results usually improve over the first two or three months as wasted searches are blocked.

Many Tasmanian businesses use Google Ads and SEO together because they do different jobs. Ads bring calls quickly but stop when you stop paying. SEO takes longer but keeps working. If budget is tight, I will tell you honestly which one to start with.
