Website Redesign Launceston

Give a tired website a fresh start without losing the Google rankings it has earned

If your site looks dated, is hard to update or just doesn’t bring in enquiries, a website redesign in Launceston can turn it around. I keep what works, fix what doesn’t and protect your place on Google along the way.

Signs Your Website Needs a Redesign

If a few of these ring true, it is time

Pinching to zoom

Visitors have to pinch and scroll sideways on a phone to read anything.

Slow to load

Pages take several seconds to appear, especially on mobile data.

Old information

Prices, staff or services are out of date and nobody can remember the login.

No enquiries

The site gets visitors but the phone and inbox stay quiet.

Locked in

Only your old developer can make changes and they are hard to reach.

Security warnings

Browsers show a not secure warning or the site has been hacked before.

Doesn't look like you

The business has grown or changed but the website still shows the early days.

Hard to find

You don’t show up on Google for the services you actually want more of.

What I Keep and What I Change

A redesign is not a reset button

Old websites often have more value than people realise. Pages that have been live for years may already rank for useful searches and other sites may link to them. Throwing all of that away for a new look can quietly cost you enquiries.

So before I touch the design I check which pages bring in visitors, which searches you show up for and which links point at the site. The good content stays, usually rewritten and improved. The pages nobody visits get merged or dropped. Then the new design is built around a structure that makes sense for where the business is now.

My Redesign Process

Careful at the start, quick at the end

1

Review

I look over your current site, its Google data and what competitors in your area are doing, then talk you through what I found.

2

Plan

You sign off the page list, the content to keep and the new look. You get a fixed price before work starts.

3

Rebuild

I build the new site on a private copy so your current site keeps running while the work happens.

4

Switch over

The new site goes live, old addresses are redirected and I watch Google Search Console for any problems.

Protecting Your Google Rankings

Redirects are the unglamorous part that matters most

Every page on your website has an address. When a redesign changes those addresses, anyone clicking an old link from Google or another site hits an error page. Google notices and rankings can slide.

A 301 redirect tells browsers and search engines that a page has moved for good and passes most of its standing to the new address. I map every old page to its closest new match before launch, then check for broken links afterwards. It is careful, slightly dull work and it is the difference between a redesign that helps and one that hurts.

If your old site was built with SEO in mind, I can carry that work across. If it wasn’t, the redesign is a good moment to start and web design and SEO together is often the best value.

Website Redesign Questions

What owners want to know before a rebuild

Will redesigning my Launceston website lose my Google rankings?

Redesigning a Launceston website does not have to lose your Google rankings if old page addresses are redirected properly and content that ranks is kept. I map every old page to its new home with 301 redirects and check Search Console after launch. Rankings can wobble for a short time, then settle.

Website Design Launceston redesigns old and outdated websites for Tasmanian businesses, with all work done by owner Nick Fritzkowski. Nick rebuilds sites in WordPress, keeps the content that already ranks and redirects old pages so search traffic isn’t lost. A complete redesign usually costs $2200 including GST.

A Launceston website built on Wix or Squarespace can be redesigned in WordPress, with the content and images moved across and old addresses redirected where the domain allows. The main benefit is full ownership and more flexibility. I check what can be exported before quoting so there are no surprises.

A Tamar Valley business usually needs a full redesign if the site doesn’t work on phones, can’t be edited or no longer reflects the business. If the design is fine and only the details are stale, website updates are cheaper and quicker. I’m happy to look at your site and give an honest opinion.

Your Launceston website stays online during a redesign because I build the new version on a private copy. Customers keep seeing the current site until the new one is checked and ready. The switch over usually happens with very little downtime, often none that anyone notices.

A website redesign with Website Design Launceston costs $2200 including GST for a complete multi page site or from $3300 when it adds a shop, bookings or a member area. Smaller sites can be refreshed as a $880 single page. Domain and hosting are extra. Full details are on the website design packages page.
