The Website Design Launceston privacy policy in plain English
This is the Website Design Launceston privacy policy. It explains what personal information I collect through this website, why I collect it and how I look after it.
A sole trader web design business in Tasmania
Website Design Launceston is a sole trader business run by Nick Fritzkowski, based in Launceston, Tasmania. In this policy I, me and my mean Nick and the business. You means anyone who visits this website or gets in touch.
I aim to handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles. As a small business some parts of the Privacy Act may not formally apply to me, but I follow the same common sense standards anyway.
Only what I need to reply and do the work
I collect personal information when you choose to give it to me. That includes the following.
How I see which pages people use
This website uses Google Analytics to understand how people find and use it. Google Analytics uses cookies to collect information such as the pages visited, the device and browser used and a rough location based on IP address. It does not tell me who you are.
I use this information to improve the site. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. You can also use the Google Analytics opt out browser add on. The site will still work either way.
Kept to the job at hand
I use the information you give me to do the following.
I never sell your data
I do not sell, rent or trade your personal information to anyone. I only share it when I need to in order to do the work, such as with a hosting provider, a domain registrar or Google when setting up your accounts. I also share it when the law requires it.
Some of the tools I use, such as email and cloud storage, may store data on servers outside Australia. I choose reputable providers and only use them for running the business.
Security, access and corrections
I take reasonable steps to protect your information from misuse, loss and unauthorised access. Passwords are stored securely and I delete information I no longer need.
You can ask to see the personal information I hold about you or ask me to correct it at any time. If you have a concern about how I have handled your information, please email me first and I will do my best to sort it out. If you are not happy with my response you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner.
For any privacy question email [email protected] or call 0495 020 684. I may update this policy from time to time and the current version will always be on this page.
