Based in Launceston, building websites for small businesses right around the state
I offer web design across Tasmania from my base in Launceston, working with small businesses by phone, email and video call so distance never slows a project down.
How I work with businesses that are an hour or five away
Most of the small businesses I build for never need to sit across a desk from me. A plumber in Burnie, a cafe in St Helens and an accountant in Kings Meadows all get the same process. It starts with a phone chat, then I send a clear quote by email and set up a video call whenever there is something worth looking at together.
That way of working came from building websites for small businesses for over 30 years. Screen sharing does the job better than a meeting room ever did. You can watch your new homepage take shape on your own screen, point at the bits you want changed and get on with your day without a drive.
Being in Launceston still matters. I know the difference between a Tamar Valley winery and a North West Coast trade business, how people in the Northern Midlands search compared to people in Hobart. I also know why a business in Strahan needs its website to work for visitors who have no phone signal half the day. That local knowledge goes into every page I write.
The city centre and the suburbs around it
Each suburb page covers who trades there, how local customers search and where I can help. Start with the one closest to you.
The Tamar Valley, Northern Midlands, Meander Valley and the North East
Country towns run on word of mouth, but newcomers and visitors check Google first. These pages look at what that means for each town.

A few hours on the road is no barrier when the whole project happens over the phone and a shared screen.
Four steps from first chat to going live
This is the same for a business in Invermay or one in Strahan. The only difference is which way I face when I write about your town.
1
You tell me about the business, who your customers are and what is not working now. I ask a lot of questions and you get a clear quote by email afterwards.
2
I map out the pages and write the words with you. You do not need to be a writer. Most people just answer questions and send a few photos.
3
I build the site on WordPress with Elementor and share a link. You and I go through it on a video call and I make the changes you ask for.
4
Your site goes live, gets connected to Google Analytics and your Google Business Profile and I keep it updated for the first year at no charge.
The website is built the same way, the thinking behind it is not
Tasmania is small, but the way people look for a business in each region is quite different. Here is what I keep in mind.
People search with the suburb name or simply near me. Clear service areas and a well kept Google Business Profile matter most.
Many customers already know your name. Your site needs to back up the recommendation with prices, photos and a phone number that works on mobile.
On the East Coast, the West Coast and around Richmond, most searches come from people planning a trip, often weeks ahead.
Farm gate sales, contractors and agistment all need a site that loads quickly on a patchy rural connection.
In Hobart, Devonport and Burnie there is more competition, so the words on each page and your Google Ads have to work harder.
Tradies who cover several towns need service area pages that are genuinely useful, not the same page copied with a new name.
Answers for businesses outside the city as well as in it

Website Design Launceston is run by Nick Fritzkowski, who builds websites for small businesses right across Tasmania from his base in Launceston. Projects run by phone, email and video call, so a business in Burnie, St Helens or Hobart gets the same service as one in the city. See the web design page for what is included.
A small business website in Tasmania through Website Design Launceston costs $880 for a single page site, $2200 for a complete multi page website and from $3300 for an advanced site with a shop or bookings. Prices include GST and a free first year of WordPress maintenance, with domain and hosting extra. The affordable web design page explains each option.
A business outside Launceston does not need to meet in person, because the whole project runs over the phone, email and video calls. Screen sharing lets you watch changes happen live and point at anything you want moved. Most people find it quicker than a meeting because nobody has to drive anywhere.
A Launceston web designer can write well about your town by asking the right questions and doing the homework on the area you serve. I ask where your customers come from, what they call your local landmarks and which nearby towns you cover. That detail is what makes a page useful to locals and to Google.
Website Design Launceston charges the same prices for regional Tasmanian clients as for businesses in the city. There is no travel fee because there is no travel. A Complete Website is $2200 including GST in Kings Meadows and on the West Coast alike.
Website Design Launceston covers all of Tasmania, including Launceston and its suburbs, the Tamar Valley, the Northern Midlands, the Meander Valley, the North East, the East Coast, the North West Coast, Hobart and the south and the West Coast. Each area has its own page above with local detail.
A Tasmanian website can rank in more than one town when each area you serve has its own useful page and your Google Business Profile lists a proper service area. Thin copied pages tend to be ignored. My local SEO plans start at $279 a month and include this kind of work.
